Privacy Policy

What We Collect

You do not need an account to use Car Reliability Rankings, and we do not ask for your name or email address. The site does not use cookies or advertising.

If you email us, we use your message and email address only to reply, and we do not share them with anyone.

Visitor Statistics

We may count visits with a privacy-friendly statistics service: the pages viewed, the site you came from, your country, your browser and device type, and how fast pages load. Any service we use for this works without cookies, does not identify you and does not follow you to other sites. We use the counts only to see which pages help readers and to fix pages that are slow or broken.

Server Logs

Like any website, the servers that host this site may keep standard logs, such as your IP address, your browser type and the pages you request. They are used to keep the site secure and running, not to identify you.

VIN Lookup

When you use VIN Lookup, your browser sends the VIN straight to NHTSA's free decoder. We do not receive or store the VIN. NHTSA's own privacy policy applies to that request.

Links to Other Sites

We link to NHTSA, automaker documents and other sites. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.

Children

This site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we ever add advertising or anything else that collects more information, we will update this page first and change the date at the top.
